Molefi Nicholas Motsatse
“Nick” Motsatse is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Southern African Music Rights Organisation, Limited by Guarantee (SAMRO). He has held this position since July 2006 following a four year period as part of the Senior Management team of SAMRO as an Executive and Director in charge of Marketing and related aspects of the business.
Motsatse was elected as one of the two vice-chairpersons of the Board of Directors of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) in June 2007. He also chairs the Business Intelligence Group (BIG), a committee of the Board of CISAC established to gather, process and disseminate intelligence regarding future trends in the copyright and related industries. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of CISAC Africa Committee.
Motsatse is the immediate past chairman of the National Arts Council (NAC) in South Africa and has been involved in pioneering a number of music industry initiatives in South Africa.
Armed with an experience of working in diverse industries and a degree in Theology from the University of Fort Hare, Motsatse’s passion is in Leadership and desires to be part of a serious conversation about the next caliber of leadership in South Africa post the ‘exile-island groomed’ leadership.
Married with four daughters, Motsatse spends his leisure time around his above average talented children, encouraging and supporting them in developing their talents to their fullest potential.
